Scarlet Macaw Preening January Update

Hello all!

Here's Sherlock after a massive 2.5 hours of stitching during January.

As you can see, not much progress has been made on this project and I apologise for not stitching more. There are two reasons for this:

1) My attention has been focused on the 31 DUCJC pieces and
2) I absolutely hate the linen fabric and just can't get on with it, so much so that it gives me no pleasure to stitch on and has brought me to tears :(

Those that follow me will know that this is my second attempt at this project, having been unsatisfied with the first lot of fabric. Well, it looks as though it might well have to be third time lucky as I go in search of another fabric which MUST be aida!

I'm sorry my post isn't a very happy one. At least others doing this SAL have had more success and I have enjoyed watching them grow!

Love and hugs

  1. There's nothing worse than stitching on a fabric you hate! Here's hoping the third time is the charm.

  3. So sorry this fabric is giving you so much trouble. I was so hoping it would bring you happy thoughts, not tears. It really is gorgeous but I hope you can find an aida that will bring you more joy in stitching. :-)

  4. Sorry you aren't liking the fabric. I scrapped a piece earlier this month for the very same reason - hated stitching on the fabric. Fortunately, I had a piece in my stash and am now a very happy stitcher (except I don't have enough time).

  5. I am restarting 2 pieces because of the fabric too. Third times the charm.

  6. It's sad that you don't enjoy stitching this, because it really does look pretty - here's to hoping you'll find the perfect fabric soon!
