Susan's Pick

Back in November, I received an email from HAED saying that I had been gifted with:

Shakespearean Fantasy

Even though I had not planned a New Year's start and I have a WIP list full of BAPs, I decided that I had to start this one soon.  When I came across this SAL it was an easy decision to join.

I have all the floss, except black - I have a large floss stash, but even I don't have 41 skeins of DMC 310 - pulled and boxed. I plan to order a cone of black during the break between the end of Stitch from Stash 2014 and the beginning of Stitch from Stash 2015. I even found a piece of fabric in my stash that was large enough and have started gridding. I should be ready to start on the 1st.

I am looking forward to watching everyone's progress.

  1. Wow this one is so pretty! I can't wait to see your progress! I have my fabric dyed but haven't started gridding yet. I'm trying to finish my current WIP first which I thought wouldn't take nearly this amount of time. The backstitching is killing me lol

    1. Because this one has a solid stitched background, I am using antique white. Backstitching is my least favorite thing to do on any piece.

    2. I didn't used to dislike it until this piece. The pattern had me going in the middle of Aida squares and in between the holes. It's done now though and I'm gridding paradise as we speak :)

    1. I have been stashing for about 30 years so have lots of stuff. I bought a ton of floss back when Wal-Mart stopped selling it a few years ago. Saw they were back to selling it when I was in there the other day.

    1. I fell in want with it the second I saw it and it sat on my wish list for a long time waiting for me to hit the button.

  6. Oh my! I treated myself to this one a few weeks back! I was thinking about stitching it on black fabric to start with but VERY quickly discounted that! I may need to join this SAL now and SAL with you on yours...lol. So looking forward to seeing your progress. xx

    2. I very briefly considered black but knew my eyes would not be happy and I am going to be spending too much time on this to be unhappy.

  7. That's an amazing chart! I would personally stitch it on black or navy blue and not do the millions of background stitching required - but then I always like to cheat if possible! I'm really looking forward to seeing your progress on this one. :)
