This month, I added over 1,900 stitches to my Charting Creations Fractal White Tiger based on artwork by Ricky Barnard.
As I moved down to page 6, I really did try to work the page row-by-row, but I was entirely too impatient. The eye was just too close and I've been itching to stitch it for ages.
This is 50 days of actual stitching.
This is how it looked at the beginning of the month.
(I have had the song "The Eye of the Tiger" stuck in my head for days...)
I have to say, I am very excited to see updates of everyone else's work this year. I love all of your charts. (Elaine, I am working on a piece by Ching-Chou Kuik, too. I love her work. You chose one of my favorites.)
Wishing you all a very stitchy month.
Renee
It is great to have the eye staring out at you. What a striking colour of blue.
ReplyDeleteIt is fun to have the eye staring! I was nervous as I began working on it though. There are some dark shades of blue that blend in with the black. There was a period of time where I reminded myself to trust the chart. I love how it is turning out.
DeleteGood progress and I love how you record the statistics for % page completion.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I'm a bit of a nerd. I have an excel spreadsheet that I update after stitching. Sometimes the numbers help me see progress when the project doesn't, which keeps me motivated. :)
DeleteHa ha then I'm a nerd too. I record everything in an excel sheet-daily stitching, stash ,magazines etc.
DeleteHis eye!! And I love that you are singing "Eye Of The Tiger" HAHA!! Great progress this month!
ReplyDeleteIt was fun when my 17-year-old son started singing it with me. :)
DeleteI love that you have the eye done. It looks great.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sarah!
DeleteGreat progress! That floating eye looks a bit scary, but I'm sure you will fill in around it soon enough :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! And I thought so, too. When I told my family I thought it looked a little creepy partially stitched like this and they looked at me like I was nuts. I'm glad I'm not alone!
DeleteWow Renee! I am impressed! I look forward to seeing your work on it.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Beth!
DeleteI know the feeling when it comes to getting close to an exciting area...I've hopped around numerous times myself!
