Mini's January update

Hello Friends,

Its time for a monthly update. I'm very happy with my progress on this project , I think I have completed 15% of the total stitches. I worked on the top left corner of the pattern.

I have fallen in love with this project and its hard to put it down. However it's time to pick my second WIP for Focus Finish February as part of  Theme-tas-stitch 2017 SAL. Don't know what I'm talking about , head over to Kerry's blog for details .

When I started this project , I had few apprehensions after reading about stitcher's trouble with kits- how the floss is bad, how they ran out of floss, the aida is of poor quality.

So far I don't have any complaints with this Dimensions kit, being a newbie stitcher with limited stash it helps when the fabric and floss is provided  . I may be weird but I like working on stiff aida as it helps to keep my stitches neat.I'm also enjoying working with first time with blended threads and variety of half stitches and how fast the half crosses stitch.

Will see you in March when I will pick this piece again for stitching.

Renee's Fractal White Tiger January 2017 Update

This month, I added over 1,900 stitches to my Charting Creations Fractal White Tiger based on artwork by Ricky Barnard.

As I moved down to page 6, I really did try to work the page row-by-row, but I was entirely too impatient. The eye was just too close and I've been itching to stitch it for ages. 

This is 50 days of actual stitching.

(I have had the song "The Eye of the Tiger" stuck in my head for days...)

I have to say, I am very excited to see updates of everyone else's work this year. I love all of your charts. (Elaine, I am working on a piece by Ching-Chou Kuik, too. I love her work. You chose one of my favorites.)

Here is my piece that I started last year. Not much progress and I really would like to get it done in my lifetime.

Question for everyone

It seems that in packing for our move, all of the thread, pattern and project for my HAED got packed and is at the back or middle of the storage building.

Would anyone mind if I just posted progress on my Four Seasons Birds project? If there is no objections,  I'll send Tammy a photo and the project info so she can  update me in the side bar.

Moving from a 1200 sq ft house to a 160 sq ft house has been challenging and I've had to be very selective with what I kept with me.

Mini's Introductory Post

Hello Friends,

My first post on this blog.A little introduction-My name is Mini, I have been cross stitching since I was 7 years. However, I took a break from it for 10 years and have restarted since Jun 2014. I have a blog http://minizdiary.blogspot.com/ where you can read more about my cross stitching journey.

Dimension kit-Indian Peacock

I started the kit while I was on vacation in Dubai and forgot to pack the instruction sheet in the luggage. Yesterday I read the instructions and I think I will have some some troubles with half cross stitches. We will see when I come to that part, right now I'm enjoying stitching the peach stitches.
